THE SIXTEENTH ASEAN MINISTERIAL MEETING ON TRANSNATIONAL CRIME (16TH AMMTC) 21st September 2022 via video conference Phnom Penh, Cambodia

On 21st September 2022, Phnom Penh: With the aim of consolidating and strengthening the existing ties in combating cross border crime in the region, the 16th AMMTC was held through video conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and chaired by His Excellency Samdech Krolahom SAR KHENG, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

As part of the scheduled agenda, ASEAN National Police or ASEANAPOL was honored to deliver an update on the outcomes of the 40th ASEANAPOL Conference which was successfully concluded on March 2022. As part of the member entities to ASEAN Secretariat, ASEANAPOL through its Executive Director, Pol. Brig.Gen. Zaw Lin Tun provides a brief update on the outcomes of 40th ASEANAPOL Conference to all meeting attendees. He emphasized that ASEANAPOL currently derived an utmost effort in implementation of the adopted resolution of Joint Communiqué which was unanimously endorsed during the said annual conference by highlighting the activities and achievements that had been accomplished from the period of January to September this year.

In addition, the Executive Director of ASEANAPOL also shared the successful attainment in the area of potential cooperation such as Capacity Building Training (CBT) initiatives with seven (7) training programs were safely conducted with participation of sixty-six(66) enforcement personnel from ASEAN Police Forces, joint operation within ASENAPOL Member Countries in the area of Trafficking in - Person and expansion of mutual partnership with like-minded entity across the globe. He concluded the presentation by reiterating the ASEANAPOL commitment in creating a secure and safe environment in this region.
