THE CEREMONY FOR THE HANDING AND TAKING OVER DUTIES OF ASEANAPOL SECRETARIAT DIRECTORS & COMMEMORATION OF 10TH YEAR ESTABLISHMENT OF ASEANAPOL SECRETARIAT ON 8 JANUARY 2020

On 8 January 2020, the Inspector General of Royal Malaysia Police cum Host of the Permanent ASEANAPOL Secretariat, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Abdul Hamid bin Bador, together with Chairman of ASEANAPOL, Police Senior Colonel Le Duc Tuyen and Commissioner of Police, Singapore Police Force, Hoong Wee Teck, graced the ceremony for handing and taking over duties of ASEANAPOL Secretariat’s Directors in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on January 8, 2020.

The Office of Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security, Socialist Republic of Vietnam represented by Police Senior Colonel Le Duc Tuyen as the Current Chairman of ASEANAPOL, witnessed the appointment of Deputy Assistant Commissioner Jim Wee from Singapore Police Force as the new Executive Director replacing Pol. Col. Kenechanch Phommachack, Police Superintendent Tang Yik Tung from Royal Brunei Police as Director for Plans & Programmes replacing ACP Aidah binti Othman and Police Senior Superintendent Joni Getamala S.H from Indonesian National Police as Director for Police Services replacing Deputy Assistant Commissioner Jim Wee. The appointment for all new ASEANAPOL Directors is commencing from 1st January this year.

In affiliation with the handing and taking over duties of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat Directors, the Inspector General of Royal Malaysia Police, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Abdul Hamid bin Bador, together with Chairman of ASEANAPOL Police Senior Colonel Le Duc Tuyen and CP of the Singapore Police Force, Hoong Wee Teck, signifies the commemoration of 10 years ASEANAPOL Secretariat establishment followed by short video presentation on ASEANAPOL Secretariat achievements and aspirations to become a renowned centre for police strategic cooperation in South East Asia.     

On this most commemorated day, the event were also attended by the senior police officers from Royal Malaysia Police, ambassador and representatives from the embassies of ASEANAPOL member countries, dialogue partners, observers and regional entities in Malaysia.
