On 29 January 2019, the Secretariat received a visit from Mr. Gerry McGowan, the International Liaison Officer of United Kingdom (National Crime Agency) to Vietnam/Malaysia/Laos. He was warmly received by Pol. Col. Kenechanh Phommachack, ACP Aidah Othman, Supt. Raiz Mukhliz and fellow officers.
The visit was intended to foll...ow up the application by United Kingdom (UK) to be elevated to ASEANAPOL Dialogue Partner. In the previous year, the application was circulated to ASEANAPOL Member Countries and the process still on-going.
During the discussion, Gerry reiterates their commitment towards ASEANAPOL and thereafter, the Secretariat Directors have explained the process of elevation. To further support their application, Gerry shared their past projects and training cooperation with a few ASEANAPOL Member Countries and soon will send in their proposal of Future Plans on UK-ASEANAPOL Engagements. He is also looking forward to participate in the upcoming 10th ASENAPOL Contact Persons Meeting (ACPM) to further explain the proposal.
