WORKING VISIT TO ASEANAPOL SECRETARIAT, MONDAY 24th NOVEMBER 2014, 10am

The ASEANAPOL Secretariat received a visit from CAPT. Martin A. Sebastian RMN (R), Research Fellow and Centre head, Centre for Maritime Security and Diplomacy on behalf of the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA), a government policy think tank to get to know ASEANAPOL, its role enhancing domain awareness and combating transnational organised crime TOC.



The visit was with a view to get a better understanding of ASEANAPOL and to facilitate MIMA’S research into TOC and Terrorism in ASEAN and how to address it through concerted regional effort. MIMA also hopes to offer cutting edge maritime security policies towards collective effort to combat TOC.















He was assisted by a Research Attachment, Mohamad Zulariff bin Abdullah and they were received by the Executive Director of ASEANAPOL and other Directors and Officers of the Secretariat. The Director for Police Services provided a briefing on the Rules and Functions of ASEANAPOL while was followed by a discussion on area of potential cooperation.
