ASEANAPOL Secretariat to Join the ASEAN Anti-Scam Campaign at UTAR
16 August 2026
Leadership is not only about fighting crime after it happens. It is about preventing people from becoming victims in the first place.
On 19 August 2026, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat looks forward to joining the ASEAN Anti-Scam Campaign at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and exchanging ideas with the next generation on one of today’s most urgent challenges — scams.
Held under the banner “C.H.E.C.K. FIRST — Stay Safe”, the campaign launch takes place from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Multipurpose Hall, UTAR Kampar campus, followed by two panel discussions at Room A011:
- Session 1 (12:45 PM – 2:45 PM) — Pause Before You Act: Manage Your Emotions & Make Safer Decisions
- Session 2 (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM) — Check Before You Trust: Think Critically, Verify & Stay Safe
Police Senior Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, Executive Director of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat and Deputy Commander of the High-Tech Crime Division, CCIB, Royal Thai Police, joins the campaign as a panel speaker. The sessions are also open online via Zoom for participants who register in advance.
Technology may change. Criminal tactics may evolve. But one powerful defence remains with every one of us: the ability to stop, think, check and verify.
If we can turn awareness into habit, habit into resilience, and resilience into collective action, we can protect far more people than enforcement alone ever could.
Think with awareness. Act with caution. Protect one another.
Together we keep this region safe.
