4 November 2026 | Virtual Meeting
As crime continues to evolve in an increasingly digital world, building police capabilities and fostering international partnerships remain essential to addressing emerging security challenges.
On 4 November 2026, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat held a virtual meeting with UN Women to explore potential cooperation in strengthening law enforcement capabilities, particularly in addressing Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV), cybercrime and other digital threats.
The meeting was chaired by Police Senior Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, Executive Director of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, with participation from representatives of UN Women, the Royal Thai Police’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), and the ASEANAPOL Secretariat.
Discussions focused on enhancing specialised knowledge and investigative skills among police officers, promoting the exchange of expertise, and improving coordination among law enforcement agencies.
Particular attention was given to proposed capacity-building activities in Cambodia and Timor-Leste, covering investigative approaches, digital evidence management and effective law enforcement responses to TFGBV.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to identify potential areas of collaboration, share relevant experiences and explore practical approaches to advancing police training and institutional capabilities across the region.
Through continued engagement with regional and international partners, ASEANAPOL remains committed to advancing practical cooperation, enhancing police professionalism and strengthening the collective capacity of law enforcement agencies to counter evolving crime threats.
Stronger Partnerships. Enhanced Capabilities. A Safer ASEAN.
