ASEANAPOL Strengthens Regional Counter-Terrorism Cooperation

On 21 August 2026, Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, Executive Director of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, attended the Strategic Planning Meeting with Local and International Collaborators for 2027, organised by the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT) in Kuala Lumpur, upon the invitation of H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia.
The meeting brought together SEARCCT and its local and international partners to discuss programmes, activities, and strategic planning for 2027.
During the meeting, the Executive Director shared ASEANAPOL’s perspective on strengthening cooperation between ASEANAPOL and SEARCCT, particularly in countering terrorism. Emphasis was placed on joint capacity building and training for law-enforcement personnel, as well as the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and experience across the ASEAN region.
The engagement reflects ASEANAPOL’s commitment to strengthening practical cooperation with regional partners and enhancing the collective capacity of ASEAN law-enforcement agencies to prevent and counter terrorism.
